How this list works

Position #1 is the featured slot, a paid placement that is openly labelled in the entry itself. Featured businesses still have to clear our published editorial bar to be on the list at all. Paying does not bypass quality. All other positions are editorial selections presented in no particular order, these are recommendations rather than a strict ranking. We re-walk every list every six months.

Check the injector is AHPRA-registered, full stop

This is the one non-negotiable. Every cosmetic injector in Australia must be a registered nurse, doctor or dentist, and you can confirm anyone on the AHPRA register at ahpra.gov.au. If a clinic or an individual cannot give you a registration number, that is the end of the conversation, no matter how good the Instagram looks.

Membership of AMET, the Australasian Medical and Aesthetic Practitioners body, is an extra positive signal but it is not a legal requirement. Registration is. Every clinic on this list was checked for registered injectors before it went on.

What it costs, and why cheap is a warning

Anti-wrinkle injections are priced per unit, around $6 to $12, or per area at $150 to $450, and most people treat two or three areas. Dermal filler runs $550 to $900 a millilitre for standard hyaluronic acid. A typical first-time plan lands somewhere between $400 and $1,500.

Be wary of pricing well under that. Cosmetic injectables are not where you chase a bargain. A suspiciously cheap price usually means an inexperienced injector, an over-diluted product or both, and a poor result on your face is far more expensive to fix than to avoid.

Nurse-led or doctor-led

Most good clinics are nurse-led, and for routine anti-wrinkle work and straightforward lip filler that is perfectly appropriate when the nurse is experienced. Doctor-led clinics with pre-injection ultrasound, like epiclinic, map the blood vessels before injecting, which matters most for higher-risk areas: under the eyes, the nose, or lips that already hold filler.

Match the oversight to the risk. For maintenance with an injector you trust, a senior nurse is fine. For a complex or higher-risk area, the extra medical layer is worth paying for.

The safety questions that actually matter

Ask three things before you book. Is there a cooling-off period? Reputable clinics offer one and a clinic that pushes same-day treatment on a first visit is a red flag. Is there a written complications policy, with a contact number, free follow-up and access to dissolving treatment if filler goes wrong? And what is the injector's philosophy, subtle and gradual, or volume?

The good clinics plan a result across sessions rather than overhauling your face in one sitting. If the answer to any of the three is vague, keep looking.

epiclinic

20+ year doctor-led cosmetic medical clinic at 245 Wakefield Street, distinguished by the use of pre-injection 3D ultrasound to map blood vessels and reduce vascular occlusion risk. That safety differentiator is not available at most nurse-only clinics and is the reason epiclinic is often chosen for higher-risk filler areas (under-eye, nose, lips with previous filler). Dr Sandra Morton leads the injectables team. Adelaide Examiner ranks epiclinic in the 2026 Top 5 for Dermal Fillers and reviewers consistently mention the ultrasound-guided technique. Best fit for clients who want medical-practitioner oversight rather than nurse-only treatment and for filler in higher-risk anatomical zones.

Frequently asked

How much do anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers cost in Adelaide?+

Anti-wrinkle injections are typically priced per unit ($6-12/unit) or per area ($150-450/area, with most patients needing 2-3 areas). Dermal fillers are priced per ml ($550-900 for standard hyaluronic acid filler). Total spend for a typical first-time treatment plan ranges $400-1,500.

How do I check if my injector is properly qualified?+

Search the AHPRA register at ahpra.gov.au, every cosmetic injector in Australia must be a registered nurse, doctor or dentist. If they cannot tell you their AHPRA registration number, do not book. Membership of AMET (Australasian Medical & Aesthetic Practitioners) is an additional positive signal but not legally required.

What is a cooling-off period and why does it matter?+

Australian cosmetic-injectable regulations (TGA) now require a 7-day cooling-off period between consultation and first-time treatment for under-18s and most reputable adult clinics also offer one. A clinic that pushes for same-day treatment on a first visit is a red flag.

What if something goes wrong after treatment?+

Reputable clinics include a written complications policy: 24-7 contact number, free follow-up appointments to assess any concerns and access to dissolving treatment for filler issues. Ask for this in writing before booking.
